Kristine S. Ziemba, Ph.D., M.D. — Physicians in St. Petersburg, FL
Dr. Ziemba grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and previously worked as a high school and community college Biology instructor in that area while she was raising her son. She earned her medical degree and a PhD in Physiology (neuroscience focus) at the University of Kentucky, then returned to Arizona to complete her Neurology residency at the Mayo Clinic. Following residency, she stayed at the Mayo Clinic to complete two years of fellowship training in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology/EEG. While at Mayo, she attained the academic rank of Assistant Professor of Neurology, and helped to teach medical students and residents. The primary value of the Mayo Clinic still drives her practice of medicine: “The needs of the patient come first.”
Dr. Ziemba is triple board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy. She has special interest and expertise in caring for people with epilepsy, including planning and overseeing surgical treatment when appropriate. She has been practicing Neurology in St. Petersburg since 2014 and is a part of Bayfront Hospital’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. During her free time, Dr. Ziemba enjoys kayaking, swimming, snorkeling/diving and nature photography. She is lucky to have a loving and supportive husband and an amazing son.
